AGNSW Membership

Thank you Premier Gladys! Thanks to the ‘Dine and Discover’ vouchers I’ve finally been able to rejoin the Art Gallery of New South Wales (AGNSW) as a member.

If you don’t know, one of the ways that the New South Wales government is hoping to boost the economy after Covid lockdowns is by providing residents 4 x $25 vouchers (2 ‘Dine’ - for restaurants - and 2 ‘Discover’ - for museums, galleries, cinemas etc). As part of the inclusions you can also put the voucher towards annual membership or renewing if you already have an existing membership.

There are lots of perks that come with the membership. Most of all is the Members Only viewings of exhibitions the day before they open. I just missed out on the opening of Hilma af Klint exhibition but there are times members can book to go for free so I’m definitely going to be booking one of those.

Other perks include discounts on the gallery shop, cafe and any exhibition tickets. A subscription to the gallery magazine which comes out seasonally called ‘Look’. Discounts on artists talks or lectures, and special events for members only.

Do you have membership at your favourite gallery or museum? I have a feeling I will be using my other voucher to join the Museum of Contemporary Art too!
